In a hot saucepan add water and milk. Then turn the heat to medium-high and add salt and sugar. Once the liquid starts simmering add the oats.
Stir the oats and liquid together consistently. Keep an eye on your oatmeal and continue stirring. This is not a recipe to walk away from. You can leave it alone for 20 seconds at a time, but then continue stirring.
After about 8-9 mins you should have a thick texture. Once the texture is thick turn off the heat. Then serve in your favorite bowl and add fresh berries and cinnamon powder as a garnish.
