Want a healthy side that is flavorful and easy to make? Try this Turmeric roasted cauliflower recipe! This turmeric roasted cauliflower recipe is an elevated version of a regular roasted cauliflower side dish because of the turmeric, spices, and onions that are added to it. Let me show you how to make it.
Choosing fresh cauliflower
When making roasted cauliflower I like to use a fresh white head of cauliflower. You can choose a cauliflower head at the supermarket, farm, farmers market, or wherever you get your produce.
I like to choose a white head without any brown or black spots. Usually when you see brown or black spots that means the cauliflower is going bad and you want to use something that is fresh.
How to roast cauliflower
Roasting cauliflower is so easy to do. It’s one of those dishes you prepare and then pop it in the oven, set a timer, and forget about it.
First, you want to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Then you want to cut the cauliflower into florets all the same size so it cooks evenly. I usually bake the cauliflower at 400 degrees for about 35-45 mins.
If you are simply roasting cauliflower you can use olive oil, salt, pepper, and then bake. That’s it!
In this recipe, I took it to another level by adding turmeric, onions, and cilantro. By adding these ingredients it adds more flavor and a pop of color.
What is turmeric?
Turmeric is a spice that gives curry its vibrant color. Turmeric contains a substance called curcumin. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. So it sounds like it’s healthy for you.
I like that it adds color to the dish and it’s also good for your health. Doesn’t that sound good to you?
Let’s get back to the recipe. When roasted cauliflower and onions they get caramelized after baking and the sweetness really comes out. Add cilantro to garnish for freshness and color. Enjoy!
